Disaster Relief

The "Disaster Relief" program of the State of Vorarlberg continuously supports projects aimed at the immediate alleviation of emergencies caused by unforeseeable events. In the fields of disaster protection and work & social affairs, grants are awarded to quickly relieve affected population groups. The focus is on measures that are carried out in the interest of those affected and ensure a rapid, effective response in crisis situations. The permanent funding opportunity also allows for a prompt reaction to acute disaster cases without fixed deadlines delaying the application process.

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, public institutions, as well as companies that demonstrate proven expertise in the field of disaster relief and possess suitable infrastructure for international deployments. Since the start of the application period on 01.01.2013, interested parties may submit applications, with no final deadline in place. The funding requirements include both professional expert competence and logistical capacities to act effectively in international disaster situations. This grant contribution strengthens the operational capability of aid organizations and promotes sustainable structures that ensure the protection and care of people in acute emergency situations.
