Description
The KfW Offshore Wind Energy Program supports project companies in the construction of up to ten offshore wind farms in the German Exclusive Economic Zone and the 12-nautical-mile zone of the North and Baltic Seas. For this purpose, low-interest loans with a term of up to 240 months are provided. The funding rate ranges between 50% and 70% of the total external capital requirement, depending on the financing variant, up to a maximum of €700 million per project. Both the usual investment costs and unforeseen additional costs are covered, while refinancing is excluded. By combining direct loans and bank-mediated financing, individual financing packages can be tailored that significantly advance the expansion of renewable energies.
Prerequisites include project-related financing, compliance with the requirements of the Renewable Energy Sources Act, and compatibility with the KfW exclusion list, sector guidelines, and German environmental and social standards. Combining this program with other KfW or ERP programs is not possible. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. The following documents are required for the application: Annex to the loan application (order number 600 000 2170), Consent declaration for data processing (600 000 2225), Information sheet KfW Offshore Wind Energy Program (600 000 1940), and Data protection notices (600 000 5066). This program is aimed at project companies of all sizes seeking stable, long-term financing for their offshore wind projects.
