Description

The Hopp Foundation supports public and non-profit schools in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region in organizing a free Educational Day focused on Artificial Intelligence. The program combines expert input in the morning with interactive workshops: experts from the network provide foundational knowledge and demonstrate practical applications of AI in the classroom. In the afternoon, a barcamp format follows, offering teachers, school administrators, parents, and other stakeholders space for self-chosen sessions. This dual approach creates a dynamic learning environment where the opportunities and risks of AI can be recognized and initial practical experiences gained.

Eligible for funding are public or non-profit schools from Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, or Rhineland-Palatinate with 50 to 120 participants. Requirements include a stable, high-performance WLAN connection, firewall adjustments, and digitally equipped rooms. The faculty must predominantly support the barcamp working method, and the request must be submitted at least three months before the desired date. After reviewing formal criteria and availability within the trainer network, the Hopp Foundation takes over the planning, moderation, and facilitation of the entire day. This format supports schools in actively advancing digital education in terms of training and digitization and enables teachers to engage thoroughly with Artificial Intelligence. Requests can be made at any time – a unique opportunity to sustainably embed AI competencies in everyday school life.
