Description
Every two years on the second Tuesday in May, the Children's Art Day Baden-Württemberg invites art and cultural institutions, non-profit and public organizations, as well as companies across the state to offer daycare groups with children aged 4–6 an exciting behind-the-scenes experience. The initiative aims to promote early childhood cultural education and participation by immersing young visitors in music, dance, visual arts, literature, and theater, encouraging them to become creatively active themselves. Program providers can submit their participatory offers online until March 12, 2026; the program overview will then be published on the website of the element-i Educational Foundation. From March 24, 2026, at 10 a.m., daycare centers will have the opportunity to book their desired program online. Statewide public relations accompany the action day, supported by press and social media measures, to open access to as many daycare groups as possible.
Participation is aimed at cultural practitioners and institutions who enjoy working with children and wish to share their passion for culture. In addition to coordinating registrations, the element-i Educational Foundation provides extensive action guides, checklists, and promotional materials. Institutions define the timeframe and group size themselves, coordinate snacks and breaks, as well as any possible press accompaniment. Through cooperation with daycare centers, a sustainable exchange is created: children carry positive impressions into families and daycare settings, while providers establish new contacts with educational institutions. With this statewide action day, Baden-Württemberg lays the foundation for lifelong cultural curiosity and supports children in the development of their personality and talents.
