Children's Recreation Program of the City of Graz

The children's recreation program of the City of Graz is aimed at families with socio-economic support needs in Styria and enables holders of a valid Graz Social Card to participate in holiday camps organized by Kinderfreunde or Kinderland at a reduced cost. With a subsidy covering 90% of the camp fees, the measure supports one-, two-, or three-week sessions and makes an important contribution to the reconciliation of family and work. The funding is provided on an ongoing basis and is designed as a flat-rate subsidy, significantly reducing the financial burden for socially disadvantaged families. The municipal authority of Graz thus specifically supports the leisure and recreational needs of children and adolescents, enabling them to enjoy carefree holiday days within a supervised group structure.

To apply, proof of an active Graz Social Card and a ZMR query for income verification are required; in addition, registration confirmation for the chosen holiday camp and income documents must be submitted. Documentation checks ensure the eligibility of expenses for the camp fees. There is no deadline, so applications can be submitted continuously; however, timely application ensures uncomplicated budget allocation. Through the children's recreation program, the City of Graz aims to relieve financially disadvantaged families and offer children unforgettable experiences in a safe and pedagogically supervised environment. Recipients of funding are encouraged to make optimal use of the services provided by Kinderfreunde and Kinderland to enable their children a varied holiday experience.
