Description
The children's recreation program of the City of Graz supports families with lower incomes whose legal guardians hold a valid SocialCard issued by the City of Graz. Within the framework of this initiative, participation costs for one-, two-, or three-week holiday camps offered by Kinderfreunde and Kinderland are subsidized with a 90% grant. The goal is to provide financial relief to families in Graz and to improve the compatibility of family and work. Eligible applicants are private individuals with primary residence in Graz; applications are accepted continuously until the budget is exhausted. The guideline has been in effect since March 14, 2019, with the earliest possible project start date from April 22, 2025.
Prerequisites for the grant, in addition to a valid SocialCard from the City of Graz, include proof of residence in Graz and timely submission of the application. Only participation costs for the specified holiday camps are eligible; cash payments or cash redemption are excluded. The following documents must be submitted with the grant application: proof of the SocialCard, registration certificates of the SocialCard holders and the child, as well as a photo ID of the child. After receiving the grant voucher, parents or legal guardians register their child directly with one of the two camp providers. The children's recreation program is assigned to the thematic area “Social Affairs, Children and Youth, Labor & Social Affairs” and is financed with unlimited volume as long as funds are available.
