Description

The Technical University of Hamburg supports non-profit associations and initiatives in Hamburg through the KinderForscher program in conducting engaging STEM experiments at schools. Sponsors receive financial reimbursement for personnel costs and materials as well as advisory support in the design and implementation of teaching projects. With specially developed experiment kits, which can be borrowed from the university, practical insights into mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology are provided. The focus is on networking between schools, the university, and industry partners. This enables learners to conduct research in real-world scenarios and experience technical contexts firsthand.

The aim of the program is to inspire enthusiasm for STEM subjects and careers among young people and to create lasting learning impulses. Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations with association or initiative status, which can submit applications continuously and informally. There are no deadlines or maximum durations; approved funds are provided flexibly depending on the scope of the project. Through the combination of experiment kit lending, financial support, and advisory accompaniment, a low-threshold access to science education is created. The program thus offers the ideal platform for initiators who wish to develop innovative learning formats and inspire young talents for future STEM careers.
