Description
The Kindergarten and After-School Care State Contribution in Carinthia supports the long-term continuation of after-school care centers and kindergartens that had not transitioned to the new funding system according to the K-KBBG as of the cut-off date 01.09.2023. As a direct grant program, it aims to secure high-quality care services for children and youth and to continue elementary education locally. Educational institutions from the areas of kindergartens, after-school care centers, nurseries, and age-extended facilities are eligible for funding. The departmental objectives include strengthening vocational training and continuing education as well as promoting sustainable social and labor market policies in the Carinthia region.
All childcare facilities approved by the State of Carinthia that meet the requirements of §§ 36, 40, 41, and 42 in conjunction with §§ 37 and 38 of the Carinthian Child Education and Care Act and have not switched to the new funding system (K-KBBG) are eligible to participate. To apply, a completed survey form must be submitted annually by April 1 via the online portal “Kinderbetreuung Online.” The funds are granted as a subsidy and are not subject to any time limitations. Clear legal foundations and transparent criteria ensure that the contribution efficiently supports the maintenance of care services and creates a stable framework for children, educators, and providers.
