Children's Music Award "Das Weberlein"

The Christiane Weber Foundation for the Promotion of Children's Music honors outstanding music productions and children's songs from all over Germany with the children's music award "Das Weberlein." In two categories – Audience Award and Jury Award – innovative compositions and professional productions are recognized. A panel of experts evaluates originality, musical quality, and suitability for children, while the audience favorites are determined through online voting. Composers, producers, and performers from the children's music scene who develop creative content for young audiences are eligible to participate. Submission of a complete audio recording or a link to the production, along with information about the authors and producers, constitutes the formal requirements for application.

The aim of the award is to strengthen the musical education of children and increase the visibility of sophisticated children's music. Private individuals, companies, and non-profit organizations are eligible to support and contribute to ensuring that both new talents and established actors receive recognition. The award not only honors outstanding productions but also provides impetus for broader recognition in culture, media, and social work. "Das Weberlein" is aimed at all those who contribute to child-appropriate cultural education through musical creativity and thus exert a sustainable influence on the development of young people.
