Child.Soul.Get.To.Know.

“Kinderseele.Kennen.Lernen.” is a continuously fundable sponsorship project of the Achtung! Kinderseele Foundation in Brandenburg, which provides teachers, school administrations, and multipliers in the school environment with medically grounded knowledge on the mental health of children and adolescents. Based on the insight that psychological problems during school age are particularly relevant to performance and learning, the program offers practical expert lectures, supervisions, and interactive formats conducted by specialists in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy. Launched as a pilot project in 2016 at four Brandenburg schools, “Kinderseele.Kennen.Lernen.” raised awareness among all participants about issues such as concentration disorders, aggression, depression, experiences of violence, and self-injury. Visits by school staff to rehabilitation clinics also served to reduce existing barriers to child psychiatric treatment and to focus attention on early support.

The funding offer is primarily aimed at educational institutions wishing to act preventively and informatively. Through training sessions, parent evenings, Q&A sessions, and job shadowing, participants can sharpen their awareness of psychological challenges and learn practical strategies for action. By targeted transfer of scientifically based information, a sustainable network of educational professionals and multipliers is established, which contributes in the long term to strengthening the mental resilience of students.
