Description

The "Kindsein in den Ferien" Foundation supports holiday trips and leisure activities for disadvantaged children and adolescents in Hamburg, aiming to provide unforgettable experiences in nature, sports, or cultural areas. Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations and educational institutions with a valid tax exemption certificate, as well as families residing in Hamburg with demonstrated financial need (e.g., citizen’s allowance, housing benefit). Schools may also request support for individual students in exceptional cases. Funding amounts are up to 500 EUR per family, 10,000 EUR per institution, and 5,000 EUR per school. Applications can be submitted at any time, provided a concrete travel or project plan and a detailed cost breakdown are included. After final booking, receipts must be submitted to verify the designated use of funds.

The funding program places special emphasis on education, culture, sports, sustainability, innovation and creativity, as well as inclusion and social integration. Selection is based on these criteria and the anticipated impact on the personal development of participants. For a successful application, in addition to the tax exemption certificate (for institutions), a detailed travel plan or project description and an exact cost breakdown are required. The collection and review of applications and supporting documents are conducted in an uncomplicated and timely manner. The program encourages the creation of diverse holiday projects that foster talents and strengthen social skills. Thus, children and adolescents who might otherwise never have had the opportunity to travel are given the chance for shared adventures, free play, and important growth experiences.
