Class Trips for Music

The “Class Trips to Music” by the foundation “Children Need Music – Foundation for an Active Musical Childhood” offer multi-day music workshops nationwide for primary school classes, focusing on active singing, making music, and movement. In various formats – ranging from domestic tours within Germany to German-Polish encounters, as well as Low German and classical formats – participants experience communal musical activities and jointly prepare a final performance. Particularly children from disadvantaged social backgrounds are supported in strengthening their personality and developing intercultural skills. A versatile educational program with language animation methods, choreography, and live music fosters enthusiasm for culture and democratic coexistence.

Eligible for funding are educational institutions, private individuals, non-profit organizations, and associations that submit a detailed project description (background, number of participants, and age groups), a justification of necessity, a cost and revenue statement, as well as a plan for success evaluation. The foundation continuously grants subsidies and decides twice a year in donation committee meetings; applications can be submitted at any time, with processing times of up to six months possible. The goal is to provide children with sustainable musical experiences and promote social cohesion.
