Description
The Carl Bechstein Foundation supports public primary schools nationwide – especially all-day schools – by providing pianos free of charge to strengthen early childhood musical education. The goal is to facilitate children’s entry into piano lessons starting from the first grade and to offer them regular practice opportunities directly on site. Funding is provided in the form of sponsorship and covers 100% of the acquisition costs. Schools can submit an informal application at any time, with the concept of intensive use within the framework of the all-day program playing a central role.
Eligible applicants are school principals and music teachers of public primary schools who, in cooperation with music schools or external instrumental educators, plan a sustainable practice and teaching program for their students. When applying via an informal email, a description of the school, the students, and the planned use of the instrument, as well as background information on the all-day concept, must be submitted. Key evaluation criteria include the actual need, the anticipated intensity of use, and the overall pedagogical concept. Through this initiative, children not only gain access to high-quality instruments but also benefit from creative development and emotional strengthening enabled by playing the piano.
