The Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony supports creative initiatives in rural regions of Saxony through the Small Projects Fund by granting straightforward subsidies ranging from 500 to 5,000 euros. Private individuals, associations, non-profit organizations, companies, and foundations based in the Free State may submit applications on an ongoing basis, with only one project funded per applicant annually. Upon positive approval, a simple usage report with a narrative and list of receipts must be submitted. Disbursement of funds occurs within the framework of a fixed-amount financing; a personal contribution is desirable but not mandatory. The processing time is usually six weeks, and approved amounts must be drawn by December 1 of the respective year.
