Description
The Climate-Kita Network is a nationwide participation initiative by the S.O.F. Save Our Future Environmental Foundation that supports educational professionals, daycare center leaders, and trainees in firmly embedding climate and resource protection into everyday daycare life. With a diverse program consisting of training sessions, climate action weeks, regional networking meetings, and specialist conferences, the network provides practical materials, methodological impulses, and professional exchange. Eight so-called co-Kitas open their doors for observations and present proven best practice examples, while multipliers and educational partners jointly develop strategies to establish sustainable learning and action alternatives in early childhood education. Through continuous support and qualification of participants, energy-efficient measures and resource-conserving projects are initiated and documented in the long term.
Eligible to participate are daycare centers operated by public or non-profit institutions with active educational professionals or leadership positions. Registration is possible at any time and is not bound to fixed deadlines. The goal is to qualify and network a total of 500 facilities across Germany. The focus is on professional consulting, practical experience, and the development of new educational formats. The Climate-Kita Network is equally aimed at daycare providers, multipliers, and institutional partners who wish to jointly invest in the future of early childhood education and make an active contribution to climate protection.
