Description

The Friedrich and Louise HOMANN Foundation supports non-profit organizations and educational institutions in Hamburg with a focus on climate and environmental protection. From the project start in January 2025, proposals can be submitted that combine nature experiences and practical environmental education. The aim is to support projects that demonstrate options for action in environmental and nature conservation, implement climate protection measures, and convey responsible interactions with nature and the environment. Both seed funding in the idea and conception phase as well as implementation and follow-up financing are supported. The maximum funding period of up to 36 months provides sufficient scope to design long-term structural and project support.

Applications can be submitted continuously; for larger funding amounts, deadlines apply up to six weeks before the advisory board meetings in April and November. Eligible expenses include personnel and material costs to ensure sufficient planning security for those involved. With this support, the foundation aims to strengthen non-profit commitment to environmental and climate protection in Hamburg as well as to enable and deepen participation. Target groups are primarily non-profit associations, initiatives, and schools that address environmental topics in a practical manner and implement locally anchored projects. Interested project sponsors should demonstrate a clear local connection and position their project in the area of climate and environmental protection. The information and funding criteria are available on the HOMANN Foundation’s website; inquiries facilitate exchange regarding suitability and funding possibilities.
