Description

Within the framework of the program Climate-Resilient Cultural Enterprises: Focus on Energy Efficiency, which builds on the successful funding initiatives of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport (BMKÖS) as well as the Climate and Energy Fund from the NextGenerationEU Resilience Fund, cultural enterprises throughout Austria are supported in building-related investment measures aimed at saving final energy. With a funding rate of 60%, the program covers thermal renovations, the transition to energy-efficient heating systems (such as district heating connections, heat pumps, or wood heating systems), energy-saving lighting and ventilation concepts including heat recovery, as well as energy-efficient cooling solutions. Planning and installation of the systems are also considered eligible expenses. The planned projects can be implemented within up to 24 months. Applications can be submitted online to Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH (KPC) between 01.01.2025 and 31.12.2050.

Eligible applicants are natural and legal persons operating cultural institutions in accordance with Article 53 of the GBER, whose premises are used at least 80% for cultural purposes. Submission of the application prior to the initial commitment (order, delivery, or start of construction) is a prerequisite. A fully completed technical data sheet is required, and for investment volumes exceeding €500,000, a report from the credit institution is necessary; further documents are specified in the respective information sheet. The evaluation is based on the savings potential, technical feasibility, economic viability, and contribution to climate protection. KPC experts accompany the entire funding process from application to disbursement and provide advisory support to ensure that cultural enterprises benefit in the long term from forward-looking energy efficiency measures.
