Description
The Climate Lottery is aimed at non-profit organizations nationwide and represents an innovative funding opportunity in the field of climate protection. Through ticket purchases, 30% of the stakes flow as grants into selected projects, with customers themselves deciding on support in the categories of Nature & Landscape, Environment & Resources, as well as Education & Research. As funding partners, clubs, foundations, or non-profit limited liability companies (gGmbHs) benefit from an exclusive online presence and targeted public relations by ClimaClic gGmbH, based in Offenburg. The first funding initiatives have already been successfully implemented, demonstrating the effectiveness of a collective approach against CO₂ emissions.
Only non-profit organizations that can specify a concrete climate protection project—including name, location, and objective description—are eligible for funding. Applications can be submitted at any time in writing, including a funding application, a detailed project description, and proof of non-profit status. The annual funding rate amounts to 30% of the funds raised. Evaluation criteria particularly include category affiliation, the level of detail in the objectives, and recognized non-profit status. Interested organizations with projects in the areas of energy efficiency, environmental education, or landscape management gain both financial support and a strong network through the Climate Lottery to implement and showcase their projects effectively.
