Description
With the climate-positive design measures, the city of Villach promotes investments that effectively relieve the urban climate and increase energy efficiency. The target group includes legal entities, sole proprietorships, start-ups, associations, and non-profit organizations operating in Villach. Projects in the areas of energy efficiency, mobility, and CO₂ reduction are supported, provided their design implementation also benefits the public. Funding is granted as a direct subsidy of 100% for project costs up to €2,000 and 90% for higher costs, but a maximum of €10,000 per project. Eligible expenses include planning costs, material expenses, and artisan services. Prerequisites are the application submission before project commencement, a start date after January 1, 2025, and full accounting by November 30 of the year of approval. Key evaluation criteria are the savings volume in kWh, verifiable CO₂ reduction, and the design added value in public space.
The application documents include a coherent design concept, a detailed overall cost breakdown with quotes and information on financing (equity and debt capital or sponsors), if applicable, an energy audit for project costs over €2,000, as well as a cost statement and a brief report upon completion. The project duration and accounting must be completed within 11 months. The program specifically targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), interest groups, village or working communities aiming to realize sustainable urban designs. The continuously open submission phase starts on January 2, 2025, and ends when the available funding volume is exhausted.
