Description
The Climate Protection Apprenticeship Training Premium of the Vienna Employees' Promotion Fund (waff) is aimed at Viennese training companies that enter into new apprenticeship contracts in particularly climate-relevant professions from 01.09.2024 onwards. The funding supports apprentices under 18 years of age in their 1st or 2nd year of training, in order to systematically expand the skilled workforce in the fields of construction & renovation, electrical & building technology, environment & innovation, mobility & logistics, as well as IT & digitalization. A prerequisite is the signing of the support declaration of the "Vienna Climate Apprenticeship Training Initiative" and the submission of the application no later than three months after the probationary period ends. The measure is valid within the funding period from 01.01.2025 to 31.12.2026, with the project designed for a maximum duration of ten months.
The funding comprises a lump-sum cost reimbursement for the apprentice’s income amounting to €1,100 per month in the 1st year of training (up to nine months) and €1,500 per month in the 2nd year of training (up to ten months). Additionally, a one-time bonus of €1,000 is granted upon the enrollment of a female apprentice. AMS subsidies for the apprentice’s income are excluded, except for the federal basic funding. Required documents include the fully completed application form, the support declaration, as well as a declaration of commitment including a de minimis declaration and confirmation of the active apprenticeship contract. The premium makes an important contribution to achieving the city’s climate neutrality goals by 2040 and strengthens the attractiveness of climate-relevant apprenticeship professions in Vienna.
