Description

The KLUG funding is aimed at independent micro-enterprises in Thuringia (fewer than ten employees, annual turnover under EUR 2 million) that offer goods and services for daily to weekly or urgent needs in rural locations. The objective of the measure is to secure, improve, and expand the basic supply for the rural population through a one-time non-repayable grant of up to 45% of the eligible net expenses. Applications can be made for investments in durable assets, expenses for consulting services as well as architectural and engineering services, or the acquisition of the assets of a business premises. Excluded, among others, are the acquisition of company shares, ongoing operating and maintenance costs, debt restructuring, or the purchase of undeveloped land.

Applications are submitted continuously via the TAB funding portal, whereby the funding application must include, in addition to a description of the project, proof of need, proof of qualification, a economic feasibility concept, and proof of total financing (e.g., confirmation from the house bank). De minimis declarations are also required to establish status as an aid recipient. The plausibility of expenses is verified by submitting quotes or cost estimates. Interested applicants can obtain detailed information on the application documents, formal requirements, and the further funding process from the Thuringian Development Bank.
