Co-financing of the INTERREG program "INTERREG Europe"

The co-financing of the EU program INTERREG Europe offers project sponsors in Upper Austria an attractive opportunity to strengthen regional development initiatives. Through a direct grant from the State of Upper Austria, public institutions, municipalities, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as non-profit organizations and educational institutions are supported in participating in transnational cooperation projects. The aim is to advance the exchange of experience in the fields of regional development, agriculture, and rural development, and to promote innovative solutions for common challenges. Funding is provided continuously and will be available indefinitely from January 1, 2025. The disbursement of funds takes place after the completion of the accounting audit, with transparent reporting and, if necessary, on-site inspections contributing to quality assurance. The legal basis is an individual decision by the Upper Austrian state government in conjunction with the general funding guidelines of the state.

Particularly interested are project sponsors from Upper Austria in public administrations, municipalities, SMEs, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations who wish to intensify their participation in the EU funding program INTERREG Europe. A prerequisite is an informal application submitted prior to the formal application to the EU program. One required document is the funding application, which can be submitted at any time without a deadline. This low-threshold application procedure ensures swift and unbureaucratic project preparation. The co-financing thus makes a significant contribution to increasing the participation rate of Upper Austrian actors in cross-border initiatives and strengthens long-term cooperation within Europe.
