Description
The Combined Housing Loan with Climate Bonus is aimed at natural persons with their primary residence in Baden-Württemberg who wish to build, purchase, modernize, or energetically renovate an owner-occupied residential property with up to three units. Complementing a basic subsidy from L-Bank, KfW, or BAFA, the program closes financing gaps and, upon request, offers a government-subsidized repayment grant (climate bonus) for particularly energy-efficient measures. The interest subsidy applies to terms of up to 35 years, including grace periods without repayments, and covers up to 100% of eligible costs. Applications can be submitted continuously, and the entitlement to the climate bonus applies to commitments made by 30.12.2024.
Eligible expenses include land acquisition, construction and ancillary construction costs, outdoor facilities, incidental purchase costs, modernization and renovation measures, as well as the installation of photovoltaic systems and storage. Excluded are projects involving holiday and secondary residences, buildings with more than three residential units, refinancing of already completed projects, and from 2025 onwards, standalone fossil fuel heating systems. Loan amounts range from €5,000 to €200,000 per residential unit. In addition to the product information sheet and program fact sheet, the application form WF_1004 and product-specific data protection notices from L-Bank must be attached. The responsible body is L-Bank as the state development bank, which provides the funds in cooperation with house banks and administers the climate bonus.
