Description

The competence coaching "Emotional Competence" by the Sports Foundation NRW is aimed at funded athletes aged 16 and over and offers practical sessions in small groups (maximum 10 participants) to strengthen emotional skills. In online and in-person sessions, techniques for emotion perception, regulation, and resilience promotion are taught to enable athletes to act confidently in their performance and educational daily routines. Experienced coaches, including former elite athletes, accompany the participants on a "deep dive" into their emotional world: topics such as mindfulness, thought patterns, and self-efficacy are the focus, creating the foundation for sustainable performance improvement and mental stability.

Participation is free of charge for eligible individuals (funding rate: 100%). Registration is straightforward via the foundation's DokuMe portal; places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Ongoing booking options allow for flexible planning as long as capacity is available. This coaching offer provides a significant component for personal development and contributes to the holistic support of youth elite sports in North Rhine-Westphalia.
