Congress Funding Upper Austria

The Congress Funding Upper Austria is aimed at companies and commissioned organizations (such as travel agencies or professional congress organizers) that conduct scientifically or educationally oriented, non-public congresses, meetings, symposia, or conferences with overnight accommodation relevance in Upper Austria. Events with at least 60 registered participants (excluding accompanying persons) and a minimum of 80 verified overnight stays, taking place at a paid venue within the federal state, are eligible for funding. The grant is awarded based on the actual number of overnight stays and is subject to the conditions of the State Tourism Strategy 2030, particularly the increase of sustainability-certified formats and the profiling of Upper Austria as an attractive congress and meeting location.

The application must be submitted no later than one month before the start of the event and includes the state funding application along with all attachments. During the funding period (01.01.2024–31.12.2026), this program positions Upper Austria as the ideal combination of work, science, and leisure and contributes to regional economic development. To comply with the funding guidelines, the use of the Upper Austria location brand logo on the congress website as well as in the congress documents is mandatory. This support not only increases the number of high-quality specialist events but also strengthens the sustainable attractiveness of the federal state as an international conference location.
