Description
The program "Cost Reimbursement IAKW – International Headquarters and Conference Center Vienna" supports operators of the Austrian Conference Center Vienna (ÖKZ) and the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) in securing the structural integrity and functionality of the facilities in the long term. Since the IAKW Financing Act came into effect in April 1972, there has been an unlimited opportunity to submit applications. Public institutions and companies based in Vienna are eligible for funding, provided that the incurred costs cannot be covered from their own revenues. The Federal Ministry of Finance and the City of Vienna jointly contribute to the implementation and ensure reliable financing based on statutory provisions.
The focus is on three central funding areas: environmentally compliant asbestos remediation, comprehensive exterior renovation with a planned total volume of €32 million, and measures to increase traffic safety amounting to €20 million. Designed as direct grants, the program reimburses expenses for construction and infrastructure adjustments as well as safety precautions in accordance with § 2 of the IAKW Financing Act. Applications can be submitted at any time and are not subject to deadlines. In this way, the funding instrument makes a significant contribution to the preservation of value and further development of the conference locations relevant to stakeholders in the federal capital.
