Description

The Flossbach von Storch Foundation offers free one-day seminars on economic and financial education in North Rhine-Westphalia, aimed at (prospective) teachers, student groups, as well as pupils. At its location in Cologne, practical and interactive formats are provided to impart fundamental economic knowledge. The program aims to strengthen economic independence by presenting basic aspects of financial markets, saving, and investing in an understandable manner. Through lectures, group work, and discussions, curiosity is to be sparked and competencies fostered to enable responsible financial decision-making.

The one-day seminar (7 hours) takes place either on fixed dates or by individual arrangement between November 2026 and April 2027, with the next fixed date on November 5, 2026. Full funding (100% subsidy) makes participation accessible to educational institutions and private individuals regardless of financial barriers. Interactive sessions cover topics such as inflation, risk, return, diversification, and portfolio construction. The goal is to embed sustainable knowledge and encourage confident shaping of one’s own economic future. By combining various didactic methods, participants have the opportunity to directly apply and reflect on what they have learned. The offering opens long-term prospects for integrating economic education into schools and universities.
