Description
Creative Europe is the EU cultural funding program aimed at strengthening the cultural and creative industries as well as the audiovisual sector across Europe. It offers continuous calls for proposals within the sub-programs CULTURE, MEDIA, and Cross-Sector and targets legal entities such as interest groups, associations, public institutions, companies, and foundations. It supports cross-border cooperation, networks, and innovative digital projects that realize European initiatives in the fields of film, music, literature, performing arts, gaming, and other cultural sectors. Through targeted funding of literary translations, platforms, networks, and Creative Innovation Labs, a sustainable exchange is fostered between partner organizations from various EU member states and eligible countries.
The program aims to preserve Europe’s linguistic and cultural diversity and to enhance the sector’s competitiveness. A prerequisite for funding is collaboration with at least two partners from different eligible countries, as well as demonstrating a European added value that extends beyond national borders. By supporting projects in the areas of content, business, and audience, the MEDIA sub-program promotes the visibility of European audiovisual works, while the Cross-Sector area advances innovative digital solutions and journalistic initiatives. Interested organizations benefit from regular deadlines depending on the sub-program and a generous grant model that paves the way for sustainable networking and the expansion of cultural cooperation.
