Artists in the Classroom

The PArt Foundation/Spiegelberger Foundation brings contemporary art directly into the classroom with its program Artists in the Classroom. Nationwide in Germany and Austria, professional artists collaborate with school classes to realize individual projects. This provides learners with a practical insight into artistic working methods and creative processes. The initiative aims to promote creative engagement with personal, societal, and current topics and to make contemporary art an inspiring catalyst for openness to the world and interdisciplinary thinking. Teachers and educational institutions benefit from a 100% funding rate: artist fees and material costs are fully covered.

Eligible for funding are all schools and public educational institutions in German-speaking regions. Applications can be submitted continuously, allowing for flexible implementation of project-oriented art education. Funding supports fee- and material-intensive formats in the fields of culture, education, as well as training and further education. The focus is on dialogical processes ranging from drawing and photography to sculpture and textile, performative, and experimental media. The conclusion is marked by a joint presentation, for example in a digital student gallery. Schools wishing to provide their learners with practical impulses from contemporary art will find uncomplicated and sustainable support in this sponsorship.
