Description
The cultural funding of the Altes Land Cultural Foundation supports diverse community-oriented initiatives that enrich the cultural heritage, environment, and local infrastructure in the Altes Land region (including the Hamburg areas in the Second and Third Mile). Private individuals, non-profit organizations, interest groups, other associations, as well as educational institutions from the region can apply for grants for projects in the fields of culture, environmental/nature conservation, building and monument preservation, culture & media, energy efficiency & climate protection, and infrastructure & urban development. Projects should have a clear connection to the Altes Land and directly benefit the local citizens by promoting historical research, local heritage preservation, the Low German language, folk customs and traditions, as well as nature or monument conservation measures.
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and informally: a detailed project description and a comprehensive cost and financing plan must be included. This financing plan must show, in addition to the required own contribution, any other requested funding sources and ensure that the implementation and overall financing of the project are secured. A prerequisite for funding is that the project has not yet started or been completed and does not pursue a commercial purpose. There is no legal entitlement to the funds; however, this does not deter the foundation from its commitment: through the continuous awarding of grants, it significantly contributes to the realization of cultural and monument preservation projects as well as innovative climate protection and infrastructure measures in the Altes Land.
