Description

The cultural-economic film and media funding of nordmedia GmbH is aimed at projects in the regions of Lower Saxony and Bremen and provides both low-interest loans and grants. The goal is to further develop the audiovisual cultural economy both quantitatively and qualitatively. Eligible applicants include authors, producers, developers, distribution and sales companies, as well as organizers of film presentations. Associations, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and SMEs engaged in the film or media sector are also eligible for funding. The program offerings cover all phases from concept and project development through production and post-production to distribution, sales, and presentation at festivals.

In addition to traditional production costs, investments in infrastructure, training and further education measures, as well as consulting services, are supported. Accessibility offerings such as subtitling and audio description, as well as interactive digital content, also fall within the scope of funding. A prerequisite is the submission of an application before the start of the project and a demonstrable cultural-economic impact. Public-service and private broadcasters as well as shareholders already involved with nordmedia are excluded. Applications can be submitted online on an ongoing basis. Interested parties benefit from flexible financing options specifically tailored to the needs of the regional film and media industry, thereby contributing to the sustainable strengthening of the creative location.
