Art Acquisition in the Field of Visual Arts and Media Art

The funding initiative of the City of Vienna Culture in the field of Visual Arts and Media Art has been supporting visual artists with their main residence or base in Vienna since 2019 through the direct acquisition of their works. For each submission deadline, an applicant may submit a maximum of ten artworks for review; a minimum interval of five calendar years must be observed between two acquisition processes. Submissions are accepted continuously, as applications can be made at any time. As a grant, the program supports the acquisition of paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, and media works equally, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the local art market.
