Description
The program State Compensation for Environmental Services of Agricultural Enterprises of the state of Vorarlberg has been promoting environmentally friendly and ecological services in agriculture in line with the strategy "Ökoland Vorarlberg – regional and fair" since January 1, 2017. The goal is to strengthen sustainable and nature conservation-oriented management by providing subsidies for environmentally effective measures. Among others, ecological cultivation methods, the use of inter-farm mountain machinery, as well as services related to social insurance contributions for livestock farming are supported. The funding guidelines are newly defined each year, allowing participants to continuously adapt their projects to current requirements. The grant is provided as a non-repayable subsidy within a total volume of 4 million euros.
Eligible for funding are agricultural enterprises based and currently operating in Vorarlberg that provide special environmental services within the scope of their operations. A prerequisite is the submission of a multiple application for land management as well as compliance with the annually defined funding criteria. Applications can be submitted at any time; there are no deadline restrictions. The funding supports farmers and agricultural enterprises in further expanding ecological management practices and contributing to landscape conservation and climate protection in the long term.
