State Contribution to the Red Cross in Connection with Major Accidents and Disaster Relief

The state contribution to the Austrian Red Cross in connection with major accidents and disaster protection supports the Carinthian regional association in its role as the responsible body for disaster medicine. Targeted funding is provided for measures to maintain and further develop precautionary structures, including training measures, replacement of materials, and standby duty. The funding is granted as a subsidy and is exclusively aimed at non-profit organizations. Based on the service allocation according to the contract and the Carinthian Disaster Relief Act (LGBl No. 66/1980), this program strengthens preparedness for major accidents and effective disaster protection in the Carinthia region.

With this continuously available funding instrument, applicants have the opportunity to flexibly cover their training and equipment needs, thereby ensuring operational readiness in emergencies. The funding objective focuses on ensuring a capable standby service and the regular further training of helpers in the field of disaster medicine. Applications can be submitted continuously without a fixed deadline, thus guaranteeing continuous financial support for these central precautionary tasks. Eligible expenses in this context include exclusively training, replacement acquisitions for consumables, and costs for standby duty. This program contributes to strengthening the operational capability of the Carinthian Red Cross in disaster protection in the long term.
