Description
The Lower Saxony State Cultural Funding supports privately operated initiatives, interest groups, and other associations throughout the state with financial grants ranging from €5,000 to €50,000 per project. Funding is provided for investments – particularly in the area of digitization – smaller construction measures, as well as project costs in the fields of culture, culture & media, and media. Additionally, scholarships are available in the disciplines of visual arts, music, and literature. The goal is to strengthen the diversity of cultural offerings and to support small cultural institutions in developing innovative mediation formats and positioning themselves for the future.
Eligible applicants are operators of small cultural institutions in Lower Saxony with a usable area of no more than 500 m² and no more than three full-time employees or up to five in-house productions per year. Eligible expenses include digitization projects, small-scale construction investments, project-related measures, and freelance-run scholarship projects. Submissions can be made online at any time before the planned measure begins. Approval is granted by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture, which bases its cultural policy on the pillars of institutional funding, project and program funding, as well as regional cultural funding. Interested parties can find all formal requirements and guidelines in the MWK’s online database and can submit their funding applications directly via the NAVO portal.
