State Cultural Awards

The State Cultural Awards of Styria honor outstanding artistic achievements in diverse fields such as visual arts, literature, performing arts, music, monument preservation, and new media. In the form of awards, the State of Styria continuously grants prizes to promote creative impulses and make the cultural diversity in the region visible. An expert jury proposes suitable individuals, groups, and institutions whose work impresses through exceptional quality, innovative thinking, or outstanding social impact. Since there are no fixed submission deadlines, proposals can be submitted at any time, creating a continuous recognition process.

Eligible to participate are artists, cultural initiatives, non-profit organizations, and companies with a proven connection to Styria. A prerequisite for nomination is the recommendation by the expert jury, which evaluates the submitted projects based on artistic excellence. The aim of the funding is to make creative achievements visible and to sustainably strengthen the Styrian cultural landscape. Through the recognition of outstanding achievements, a platform is created that promotes collaboration and networking within the culture and media sector and supports long-term artistic development in the region.
