Description

The state initiative Child Protection in Thuringia promotes preventive, cooperative, and inclusive measures to protect children and adolescents. Public and independent youth welfare organizations as well as other legal and natural persons can apply for grants for projects such as the establishment of regional networks for Early Support, qualification and training offers related to the protection mandate in cases of child welfare endangerment, as well as initiatives for continuous quality development. With a funding rate of up to 70 percent, innovative approaches are supported that aim at a sustainable strengthening of municipal protection structures and focus on the collaboration of various professional disciplines as well as the participation of all stakeholders.

Eligible to apply are districts, independent cities, independent youth welfare organizations, and other project sponsors with supra-regional significance, taking into account the professional recommendations of the State Youth Welfare Committee. Investment costs, ongoing child and youth protection services, and measures under the program “Solidary Coexistence of Generations” are excluded. Applications can be submitted annually by November 30 to the Thuringian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Through the state program, project leaders have the opportunity to implement effective protection concepts, strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation, and further develop child protection in Thuringia at a high quality level.
