Description

The State Foundation "Help for Mother and Child" supports pregnant women, large families with three or more minor children, as well as single parents in Bavaria who find themselves in an acute emergency through no fault of their own and whose statutory benefits are insufficient. As a public foundation under the jurisdiction of the State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs, it grants voluntary, non-enforceable financial assistance from funds provided by the Free State of Bavaria, the Federal Foundation "Mother and Child," church organizations, and private donations. The aim of the funding is to provide rapid relief from the existing emergency and to create a sustainable foundation for the future. Applications can be submitted at any time; endorsement by the locally responsible authority or an independent welfare association is required.

Prerequisites for approval include, among other things, a gross family income below the income threshold according to § 53 No. 2 AO, a minimum residence of six months in Bavaria, and cooperation in resolving the problem. Funding is provided for necessary purchases, securing livelihood, debt reduction, maintenance of housing (e.g., rental deposit), subsidies for recreational educational purchases in childcare facilities, and specifically for multiple-birth families, a one-time allowance of 515 euros per child. Additionally, a monthly subsidy for financing household help can be granted for up to twelve months. To apply, a fully completed application form, proof of income and assets, an endorsement letter from the responsible authority, medical certificates if applicable, as well as bank and rental proofs must be submitted.
