Description

The Landschaftswerte 2.0 program promotes the enhancement of the natural and cultural landscape heritage in Lower Saxony through non-repayable grants. The goal is to secure and increase biodiversity in inhabited areas. Funding is provided for nature-oriented experiential and informational offerings, green infrastructure, as well as dark-sky projects to reduce light pollution and measures for sustainable management by SMEs in National Natural Landscapes. Applicants such as associations, clubs, foundations, municipalities, nature park authorities, companies, and public institutions must demonstrate their professional and administrative suitability, secure financing, and achieve a minimum score in the evaluation process. Projects benefit from a funding rate between 40% and 70% of eligible expenses, with grants starting at €30,000 and a project duration of up to 36 months.

Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2026, via the NBank customer portal, including digital documents and postal submission of the original. Eligible expenses include planning, personnel, construction and ancillary construction costs, material expenses, as well as land acquisition and related costs. Legally mandated compensatory measures and projects already funded by other sources are not eligible. Particular emphasis is placed on innovation, sustainability, contribution to nature conservation, and regional benefit. A professional statement from the lower nature conservation authority, the nature park authority, as well as proof of own and third-party funds, must be submitted mandatorily. With Landschaftswerte 2.0, the State of Lower Saxony supports the development of green infrastructures, strengthens ecosystem services, and invites stakeholders to create positive impacts for nature, climate, and society locally.
