Description
The LEADER program in Brandenburg supports exemplary projects and regional development processes in rural areas. Using a bottom-up approach, local actors are empowered to jointly develop future perspectives, strengthen inter-municipal cooperation, and sustainably expand public services, nature conservation, and climate protection. Within the framework of the EU funding period 2023–2027, up to 100 percent grants are available for innovative initiatives with a maximum funding amount of 200,000 euros. The project duration is up to 48 months, and applications can be submitted continuously until June 30, 2027. Eligible costs include personnel and material expenses, investments in machinery and equipment, as well as overhead costs. Funding is based on the national CAP strategic plans and is closely linked to the objectives of the Regional Development Strategies (RES) of the 14 LEADER regions in Brandenburg.
Projects eligible for funding must be located within the “rural area Brandenburg” funding region and in a recognized LEADER region, receive a positive endorsement from the Local Action Groups (LAG), implement the RES objectives, and demonstrate overall financing. Eligible applicants include interest groups, associations, companies, cooperatives, foundations, public institutions, start-ups, private individuals, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions. Ineligible are the acquisition of real estate, livestock, ongoing operating costs, research and development projects, as well as replacement acquisitions. Evaluation criteria include contribution to the regional strategy, degree of innovation, climate protection and sustainability, as well as the involvement of local actors. When submitting the online application to the State Office for Rural Development, Agriculture and Land Consolidation, project description, usage and operational concept, building permits, approvals, and land register excerpt must be provided.
