LEADER Funding (LAG Upper Main Region)

The LEADER funding in the LAG Region Obermain supports non-profit organizations, companies, public institutions, and start-ups in Bavaria in implementing innovative projects that contribute to strengthening the region as a tourism, leisure, culture, and tradition location, economic and living space, as well as a sustainable agricultural and natural region. Funding priorities lie both in the area of economic ventures (funding rate up to 40%) and other measures (up to 60%), whereby sustainable project management beyond the commitment period must be ensured. Applications can be submitted at any time within the funding period 2023–2027, with grants ranging from €7,000 to €250,000, excluding VAT.

A prerequisite for a successful application is alignment with the Local Development Strategy (LES) of the Obermain region and a demonstrably at least locally novel degree of innovation. A transparent cost overview with quotes for each partial service as well as a minimum own contribution of 10% are mandatory. Projects are evaluated based on criteria such as degree of innovation, economic efficiency, contribution to the LES development goals, and sustainable project management. Eligible expenses include net costs for personnel and material services. Interested project sponsors can find all necessary documents, including information sheets on project selection criteria, project description, and guidelines, provided as PDFs, and can submit their funding documents directly, provided the project has not commenced before approval.
