Area of Life Accessibility and Mobility

The Aktion Mensch Foundation nationwide supports innovative initiatives in Germany that reduce barriers in public spaces, infrastructure, and everyday life. Through financial support for structural modifications, interpreting services in written and sign language, as well as the procurement of accessible vehicles, visible and invisible obstacles are dismantled. Public awareness campaigns promoting mobility ensure that seniors, people with disabilities, families with children, and individuals with temporary impairments have equal access to transportation, public facilities, and rural services. Inclusion is at the core, serving as a driving force for an open society where participation is enabled for all and exchange between different areas of life is strengthened.

Eligible for funding are municipal authorities, non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, and foundations that wish to implement projects in the fields of infrastructure, urban development, regional promotion, agriculture, and rural development. Applications are submitted online as grants without fixed deadlines at any time and are flexibly adapted to needs. Experts accompany the application process and assist in selecting appropriate measures to optimally consider individual conditions and regional circumstances. Targeted funding is available to create inclusive spaces and make mobility barrier-free. The program offers interested parties the opportunity to sustainably increase participation and jointly shape a barrier-free future.
