Description

The initiative "Apprenticeship with Matura" of the State of Burgenland offers partial reimbursement of wage costs for training companies and educational institutions during attendance of the matriculation course. It is aimed at Burgenland-based authorized trainers according to § 2 Vocational Training Act as amended as well as at educational institutions according to § 30 Vocational Training Act as amended, provided that the apprentices under their supervision have their main residence and/or training place in Burgenland. The funding reduces the financial burden on companies during the additional school qualification on the one hand, and on the other hand strengthens dual vocational training and creates incentives for the combination of practical company experience and school-based matriculation qualification.

Eligible for funding are the actual wage costs incurred during the respective course year as a direct grant. Applications can be submitted continuously until no later than January 31 of the year following the training year. The application must include the completed funding form as well as a copy of the apprenticeship contract with the supplementary agreement "Apprenticeship with Matura." The Office of the Burgenland State Government acts as the funding agency, processing applications according to existing guidelines and ensuring prompt handling. This measure supports training companies in optimally guiding young skilled workers on their path to professional maturity and school-based university entrance qualification, thereby sustainably promoting the future viability of the regional economy.
