Description

In Carinthia, companies in the fields of work, education & training, as well as work & social affairs benefit from permanent grant funding for the establishment and operation of training workshops. The measure, within the framework of the Carinthian Employee and Continuing Education Promotion Act, provides financial support both for investments in training workshops or similar facilities and for their ongoing operating costs. Expenses incurred when sending trainees for inter-company vocational training are also covered. Applications can be submitted at any time before the planned investment begins. A prerequisite is training according to a valid occupational profile with a training plan that includes minimum residence periods of at least four months in the 1st year of apprenticeship, three months in the 2nd year, and two months in the 3rd year.

For the application submission, in addition to cost estimates, an operator concept as well as a detailed training plan must be enclosed. Eligible expenses include investments in workshop equipment, necessary technical expansions, and operating costs. Evaluation is based on a complete training plan, the presence of additional technical facilities, and the final apprenticeship examination results of the past five years. Another important aspect is labor market relevance, especially in shortage occupations. After successful completion of the investment measures and positive review by the responsible authorities, the funding is paid retroactively. Companies wishing to establish training workshops or send trainees can find detailed information at Department 11 of the Office of the Carinthian State Government.
