Services for Addiction and Alcohol Patients, Bgld SHG

The state of Burgenland supports individuals with addiction or alcohol-related illnesses through financial subsidies for spa stays and placements in detoxification facilities. The goal is the restoration or improvement of health when these measures are medically indicated. Eligible for funding are Austrian citizens, asylum beneficiaries, as well as permanently resident foreigners with at least five years of residence rights, provided that their main residence and actual stay are in Burgenland. The funding is granted within the framework of Burgenland social assistance (Bgld. SHG 2024) as a subsidy and can cover the incurred costs in whole or in part. A medical report or a current clinical-psychological assessment must be attached to the application to demonstrate the necessity of the measure.

Applications can be submitted continuously from October 1, 2024, with no deadline. Required for the application are, among other documents, the completed application form, bank statements from the last six months, current proof of income, and a medical report. The district administrations and magistrates in Burgenland are responsible for receiving applications. The procedure is designed as a transparent part of social assistance and promotes regional healthcare through digital services as well as personal consultation. With this funding, Burgenland makes an important contribution to the sustainable rehabilitation of individuals with addiction and helps strengthen the quality of life in all districts.
