Competitive Sports

The funding guideline "Competitive Sports" supports non-profit sports clubs in Vorarlberg in enabling their teams to participate in international, nationwide championships of the first and second performance levels as well as in supraregional leagues (e.g., regional leagues, Lake Constance leagues). Additionally, athletes of the Vorarlberg individual elite sports squad can receive subsidies to maintain their performance at a high level. Travel expenses, entry fees, and participation fees are funded, provided that the sports club is based in Vorarlberg and participates in competitions. The financing is provided as a direct grant and can be applied for continuously, so there is no deadline.

The funding is addressed to all non-profit sports clubs in Vorarlberg that engage in elite team sports, as well as to individual elite athletes who are listed in the state squad. Applications can be submitted at any time to the Sports Department of the Vorarlberg State Government, which is responsible for processing and disbursement. This measure frees up professional resources so that coaches and supervisors can create optimal conditions. Thus, the funding contributes both to strengthening the regional sports culture and to the sustainable development of local talents, providing committed clubs and athletes with the necessary financial basis for national and international success.
