Description
The Leonardo School Award, held every two years, is aimed at students from the middle school level onwards at schools in Wiesbaden and spans the duration of an entire school year. In ten thematically diverse categories – ranging from “Laboratory of the Future” to “Everything is Art” to “Sports and Health” – teams form to independently conceive, implement, and subsequently present project ideas before a panel of experts. The best entries are honored at a formal gala at the State Theatre: they receive not only the coveted Leonardo trophies but also financial prizes for further project support.
Participation requirements include a school location in Wiesbaden, the formation of a team of middle or upper secondary students, and the submission of a detailed project description in one of the ten categories. Over a period of ten months, the teams demonstrate creativity and implementation strength, with evaluation based on innovation, quality of execution, and presentation skills. The application phase begins after the summer holidays in 2026; exact deadlines will be announced in due course. The competition aims to promote young talents, strengthen Wiesbaden as a center for science and creativity, and highlight the commitment of educational institutions.
