Description
The local funding line “Learning in Langenhorn” of the Joachim Herz Foundation is specifically aimed at projects in the Hamburg-Langenhorn district that actively involve children and young people in sustainability processes and enable age-appropriate education for sustainable development. Public institutions as well as non-profit organizations and social enterprises can apply for a one-time grant of up to €5,000 for initiatives in the areas of environmental and nature conservation, energy efficiency, education, as well as vocational training and further education. Within the maximum project duration of three years, targeted funding is provided for material and equipment costs as well as personnel expenses to support innovative approaches to local participation and to reward personal initiative. Selection is based on clear content-related and financial planning, the quality of the project concept, and the efficient use of funds.
Eligible applicants are legal entities under public law, such as public schools, as well as non-profit associations, initiatives, and educational institutions based in Germany. A prerequisite is a project start in the current or following calendar year and proof of non-profit status. Applicants must submit a fully completed application form, a project outline (maximum three pages), and a detailed financing plan. Continuous application submission allows for flexible project planning without fixed deadlines. Creativity and reliability of the applicants are considered in the award decision, as is proven experience in the education and environmental sectors.
