Description
The funding opportunity "Literature: Associations and Events" is aimed at literary associations, organizers, and cultural initiatives that conduct readings, festivals, publications, or other literary projects in public spaces in Vienna. Direct grants are available to realize projects that would not be feasible or would only be partially feasible without financial support. Applications can be submitted continuously to the responsible Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport, Section Arts and Culture. Eligible for funding are, in addition to associations and non-profit organizations, also private individuals and companies with Austrian citizenship or permanent residence in Austria. A proportional personal contribution is expected according to economic capacity, provided this is reasonable. The budget foresees an allocated volume of approximately 7.55 million euros, supporting the sustainable anchoring of literary activities and creating stable conditions for artists.
Interested project sponsors submit the general application form, which is available on the transparency database. All requirements according to the Arts Funding Act 1988 must be observed: In addition to proof of funding need, no parallel funding commitments from other federal bodies may be disregarded. Due to the continuous submission possibility, there is no fixed deadline, allowing projects to be planned flexibly and applied for in a timely manner before the project start. The aim of the funding is to strengthen the literary offerings in public spaces, to reach new target groups, and to increase the visibility of contemporary literature in Vienna. This grant makes a significant contribution to cultural diversity and to the revitalization of literary meeting places in the city.
