Description

The funding program “Literary Institutions and Projects” of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia sustainably strengthens the literary infrastructure in the region. It includes both institutional grants for already established literary offices and literary houses as well as project-based funding for festivals, reading series, and writing initiatives. In addition, in individual cases, special acquisitions of valuable literary collectibles may be subsidized. The allocation is made based on the state budget regulations and through individual decisions by an independent jury, which determines the amount of the grant. For institutional applications, existing funding is a prerequisite, whereas project applications can be submitted without additional conditions.

Eligible for funding are literary offices and literary houses, municipalities and municipal associations, other public sponsors, as well as non-profit and private organizations and associations. Project applications can be submitted by November 30 of the previous year, institutional funding applications by October 31 of the previous year. Applications are submitted electronically via Kultur.web in the grantee cockpit; the completed and signed application form must also be submitted by post to the Arnsberg District Government. The program is aimed at all initiatives that wish to enrich and expand literary life in North Rhine-Westphalia and provides important impulses for cultural diversity and reading promotion throughout the entire state.
